What is Prevention

Event Type: Adult Program
Age Group(s): Adults
Date: 6/12/2017
Start Time: 6:30 PM
End Time: 7:30 PM
Description:
At a time when the opiate crisis and drug addictions are headlining daily, people often ask what society is doing to prevent the issues from the first place. Substance use prevention and mental health wellness are critical to the health and safety of any community. We invite you to learn more about good prevention and how it can reduce the number of drug related problems in a community. Zachary Thomas, OCPS, Director of Wellness and Education for Hancock County ADAMHS, will present the foundations of substance use prevention and how the Hancock County Community Partnership and Opiate Task Force are proactively implementing strategies that reduce youth and substance use.
